Learning Paths are now part of QuizLab Pro. Instead of publishing one quiz at a time and leaving learners to find their own way through the material, you can group quizzes into a structured programme with clear progress, completion rules, reporting, and certificates.
For training providers, schools, membership sites, CPD programmes, clubs, and internal teams, this is the feature that turns a set of quizzes into a journey.
From Individual Quizzes to Structured Programmes
A single quiz is useful when you need to test knowledge at one point in time. Many real learning and assessment workflows are broader than that.
You may need a staff onboarding path with four required modules. A school might run a quiz every month and combine the results into an annual challenge. A compliance programme may need several separate assessments, each with its own pass mark, but one overall completion record. A course creator may want learners to work through topic checks before receiving a final certificate.
Learning Paths are designed for those situations. You can take existing QuizLab Pro quizzes and arrange them as rounds inside a named path. Each path can have its own description, mode, completion rules, scoring method, leaderboard setting, and certificate option.
What Learners See
On the frontend, a Learning Path gives learners a focused view of where they are and what to do next.
The path page can show:
- The path description and status
- Required round progress
- Overall score
- Each round's status
- Locked, available, in-progress, and completed states
- The next available action
- Certificate availability after completion
There is also a new My Learning Paths view for logged-in learners. This gives each learner a dashboard of available paths, current progress, completion status, and the next round to continue.
That small detail matters. Learners should not have to remember where they left off or hunt through menu items to work out what comes next. QuizLab Pro now gives them a clearer route back into the work.
Built for Different Kinds of Programmes
Learning Paths are flexible enough to support more than one style of delivery.
Use a path as an ordered learning programme when learners should move through quizzes in sequence. Use it as a competition when multiple quiz rounds contribute to an overall result or leaderboard. Use it as an assessment programme when several quizzes need to be tracked together without turning the site into a full LMS.
The first public version focuses on the core workflows that most Joomla site owners need:
- Group existing quizzes into a path
- Add quizzes as ordered rounds
- Mark rounds as required or optional
- Track learner progress across the whole path
- Calculate overall scores
- Show learners their next action
- Review path-level reports
- Export path data to CSV
- Issue certificates for completed paths
It is intentionally practical. You keep the quiz engine, question types, feedback, essay review, certificates, and reports you already have, then add a structured layer above them.
Reporting Across the Whole Path
Administrators now get a path report for each Learning Path.
Instead of checking each quiz separately, you can review participants, completion status, overall scores, round progress, pending essay reviews, and certificate counts from the path report. CSV export is included, so path data can be used for audits, records, or offline analysis.
This is especially useful for compliance training and professional development, where the final question is rarely "did they pass one quiz?" More often, it is "who has completed the full programme, who is still in progress, and who needs follow-up?"
Completion Certificates for Full Paths
QuizLab Pro 2 also adds reusable Certificate Templates, and Learning Paths can use them.
That means a certificate no longer has to represent only a single quiz attempt. It can represent completion of a full programme, annual challenge, onboarding path, or CPD activity.
Templates can include branded backgrounds, positioned fields, typography controls, colours, token-based text, and verification URLs. Path certificates can use path-focused details such as learner name, path title, score, completion date, CPD hours, and CPD points where configured.
For organisations that need recognition or proof of completion, this makes paths feel complete from both the learner and administrator side.
A Better Fit for Joomla Sites
Learning Paths are not trying to turn QuizLab Pro into a heavyweight LMS. That is deliberate.
Many Joomla sites do not need courses, lessons, gradebooks, SCORM packages, or complex enrolment rules. They need a clean way to publish quizzes, guide learners through them, track progress, and issue evidence when the work is complete.
That is where Learning Paths fit. They give Joomla site owners a structured learning workflow while keeping the system lightweight, familiar, and focused.
